PHANTOM Barber Co.
PHANTOM Barber Co. is a self-initiated concept — a fictional luxury barbershop built to push how far a local-business website can go. The goal was simple: make a “local” brand feel like an Apple product launch.
The challenge
Most barbershop and local-service sites look templated and interchangeable. The brief I set myself was deliberately extreme: build something cinematic and immersive enough to feel like a $25k+ flagship, while staying fast, accessible, and genuinely usable on any device.
The approach
- Art-directed a cyber-luxe identity — a near-black canvas, chrome-and-aurora lighting, and confident display typography that signals premium before a word is read.
- Engineered an interactive hero in React Three Fiber: a distorted 3D core, an orbital ring, and a particle field that react to the cursor in real time.
- Layered the motion system — Lenis smooth scrolling, GSAP-pinned scroll storytelling, and Framer Motion reveals — so every section animates in with intent, not decoration.
- Kept it honest under the hood: the 3D is code-split out of the initial bundle, motion fully respects reduced-motion preferences, and the markup carries semantic structure and SEO schema.
The outcome
A reference piece that shows what's possible when a local brand refuses to look local — and a working demonstration of the creative direction, motion, and 3D capability behind Pawlowski Creative. It's a live concept, not a client engagement.
